^   PRAYER FOCUS: NEPAL

The country of Nepal is facing an uncertain future since news broke last Tuesday that King Gyanendra had dismissed Prime Minister Deuba, sacked the government, declared a nationwide state of emergency and assumed direct control of the country.  Pray for calm and restraint throughout Nepal at this difficult and confusing time, particularly the ordinary people who are the ones that suffer most when there are curfews or when roads are blocked and businesses have to close; for many lost income means no money to buy the next meal.  Pray also for David McConkey, Acting Executive Director of United Mission of Nepal (UMN) and for all personnel both Nepali and expatriate.
