In a vacant congregation the choosing of a new minister is a responsibility shared between the Kirk Session and the congregation.  Any member may submit the name of a minister, in writing, to Wilbert Bennett the Clerk of Session by the 31st December for consideration by the Kirk Session at their next meeting in January.

 

PRAYER FOCUS FOR THE WEEK

We will remember in our prayers the teachers and young people in our Sunday Schools and Bible Class.

 

PRAYER FOCUS : MALAWI

Give thanks for the kindness of many people in the UK and Ireland, the AIDS Project within Ekwendeni Hospital has commenced with Christmas parties for orphans from the local area.  On Saturday 11th, there were three parties in different area.  The parties will continue until 23rd December and in total it is hoped to feed some 5,000 orphans.  Pray for the ongoing work over the next week and especially for Mrs Esther Lufpaya and members of the AIDS Project in Ekwendeni.

IRISH PRESBYTERIAN HYMNBOOK (IPH)

If you would like to purchase a hymnbook for your own use, there will be word and music editions for sale today, before and after the morning service.  Also, if you would like to donate some hymnbooks for use in the pews of the church, please let us know, or go ahead - buy some and we would be happy to put your dedication in if you would like your donation to be especially remembered.  Christina Bradley.

 

MONTH OF DECEMBER: WORLD DEVELOPMENT APPEAL

World Development is a Presbyterian Church programme, helping people trapped by poverty who cannot free themselves.  It works in long term partnership with the poor, changing lives and communities for the better.  It supports projects in every continent and channels its resources through Christian Aid and Tearfund.  Envelopes are available in the pews, please put your contributions on the offering plate.  Thank you.
