We will remember in our prayers the leaders and members of our Congregational Committee.

^   PRAYER FOCUS: KENYA

Elizabeth Davis’ mother was admitted to Coronary Care last Sunday 13th March.  Paul and Elizabeth, who have been standing-in for Stephen and Angelina Cowan while they are on home assignment, are due home at the beginning of June.  The Cowans are due to return to Kenya on 31st March.  Pray for God’s grace and peace for all in Elizabeth’s family circle, especially for her mum.  Remember Paul and Elizabeth who are finding it difficult being so far away from family at this time.  Remember Stephen and Angelina and family as they are busy making preparations for their return to Kenya in a couple of weeks’ time.

^   MAINTENANCE OF PROPERTY OFFERING for 2005

This year we have important work to do.  It is absolutely necessary to refurbish the manse before a new minister is appointed, together with on-going general up-keep of our church and halls. Offerings for MOP will be taken during this month of March.  Envelopes will be distributed to every home and also available in the church pews.  We trust you will respond with your usual generosity, and if you have not contributed previously please consider doing so this year.

^   TSUNAMI GENEROSITY

With donations still continuing to come in, the Presbyterian Church’s Tsunami Appeal has topped the £1.5m mark.  Moderator Dr. Ken Newell has expressed his thanks to the 280,000 Presbyterians around Ireland for their amazing generosity.  Appeals like this are not just about money, they demonstrate in the strongest way Christian commitment to the world’s poor and vulnerable.  A special event will be held in Church House on Thursday evening, 19th May to thank people for their generosity and allow them to hear first hand how their money has been used for emergency relief and long term development in the countries effected by the Tsunami.
