^   PRAYER FOCUS: KENYA

Long awaited and much needed rains are now falling in most of the country.  Give thanks for these life-giving rains and pray for the right amount to ensure a good harvest.  In Galana in SE Kenya, the Agricultural Programme began on Monday 16th  with Derek Roulston staying with the team until Friday 20th.  Do pray that the community will grasp all the concepts of the programme and be encouraged and enthused to put into practice all that they learn.  Pray that they will also see this as God reaching out to them in a holistic way, meeting their practical needs and giving them a better quality of life.

‘GET A LIFE’ FOLLOW UP …

TUESDAY 24TH MAY, 7.30PM

BALLYHENRY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Some of our Rosemary delegates who attended the conference last August will not be able to attend and we invite members of the congregation and leaders of organisations and members of Session to go, so that they may get the benefit of this one-off evening with interesting speakers.

“Get A Life Follow Up” is about sharing ideas and encouraging one another in meaningful worship, authentic fellowship and effective witness.  Benefit from the experience of one of the invited speakers, hear first hand reports and see video stories from other congregations in your area.  No booking is required – just turn up to follow up!

     Speakers …

~ MARTIN ALLEN       (28 years of ministry in Chryston, outside Glasgow)

~ ALAN REID             (2 parishes Canonbie/Liddesdale, Scottish Borders)

~ MARC BIRCHAM     (minister of St Madoes & Kinfanus near Perth)

^   THE NEW ALPHA CONFERENCE

CARNMONEY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH: 2nd to 3rd June 2005

…Churches are facing challenging times.  Whilst some are experiencing new dynamism and growth, others face the challenge of how to be relevant to a largely unchurched society.  Millions of people – especially those in their 20s and 30s – have no contact with their local church.

…Across the world, tens of thousands of churches are using Alpha as a tool for evangelism.  Many of these courses have resulted in people coming into a relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as being the source of renewed energy and life in existing congregations, and more young people coming to church.
