Friday Bible Club
ABOUT US
The Friday Bible club meets in the Church Halls on, yes you've guessed it,
Friday evenings! The name is not very original but when we asked the kids
to come up with a more original name they all drew a blank. So if anyone has
any great suggestions for a name change please let us know!
WHO CAN JOIN?
Despite the very unoriginal name we have great fun together on Friday evenings
between 6.30 and 7.30pm. The club is open to all children of primary school
age whether or not they belong to our congregation. In fact we have more children
coming along who do not belong to the congregation than those that do!
FRIDAY NIGHTS
Most Friday nights we would have about 15 - 20 kids and 5 or 6 leaders. We
start the evening with a few games to run off some energy and then we would
have a bible story and usually some craft activites. We try to have a special
night once a month when we would have a Games night or a Craft evening or
a Praise party. We also organise a few outings throughout the year. Last year
we went 10 Pin Bowling, down to Loughshore and over to Stormont Playpark which
was followed by a McDonalds picnic - the cheese burgers were yummy!
FUNDRAISING
We also raise money for various charities and have supported the Childrens
Hospice, the Blue Peter Appeal, and the Malawi Famine Appeal in the past.
This year we hope to raise money to fill containers for schools in Malawi.
We will make our own collection boxes from cardboard and then collect up all
those spare pennies that lie around the house and perhaps some of our own
pocket money! Then when we have raised enough money we will purchase a container
and fill it with various educational items eg pens, pencils, notebooks, reading
books etc and send it down to Belfast Docks for shipment to Malawi! This is
