PRAYER FOCUS: SUNDAY SCHOOL

·        Pray for the leaders as they prepare their lessons and that they would know a sense of God’s guidance as they communicate God’s truths.

·        Pray for good relationships between teachers and their pupils.

·        Pray that parents will be affected by what the children learn each week.

PRAYER FOCUS: MALAWI

Una Brownlie and the nursing staff at the David Gordon Memorial Hospital in Livingstonia (DGMH)      have a heavy workload at present.  As well as surgical and medical cases, there are many patients with malaria including children with cerebral malaria and severe anaemia. Prayer Points:

·        For Una and the nursing staff that they will cope well with their busy workload.

·        Pray for a child called Sarah, admitted to the hospital with burns, that she may make a good recovery.

·        A family of four orphans living without any adult, the eldest child is 13 years old.  Pray for the Orphan Care Team as they support this family, along with many others.

·        Continue to pray for a resident doctor for DGMH, plus nurse/midwives for DGMH’s lakeshore health centres at Tcharo and Mlowe.

This is the ‘hungry’ time of the year in Malawi, when last season’s maize is running out and it will be two to three months to first harvesting. Prayer Points:

·        Those in need and for those who seek to bring help and hope to others.

·        Give thanks for the rains and the expectation of a good harvest in many areas of Malawi.

BOXES FOR MALAWI

Now that it is February, in just a few months our organisations will close down for the Summer.  At this time I would like to ask you and your organisation or you and a few friends to “FILL A BOX FOR MALAWI”.  Although we have already been supporting the schools and hospitals in Malawi, the need there is still very great.  We will be sending another container to Malawi in about six or eight weeks time and would be very glad of your help.  Medical and Educational items are shipped in plastic boxes which can be bought from the organisers of “Boxes for Malawi” at a cost of £15 each which covers transportation.  Lists of required items are also available and only these items are accepted for transport.  If you would like to help in this matter or want more information please as me.
