A very warm welcome is extended to Revs James Rogers and George Moore and to all who have joined us today.  Visitors are asked to sign the Visitor’s Book in the porch and introduce themselves to the Ministers or any of the Elders after the service.  Anyone who wishes to join the congregation is requested to fill in a yellow card which can be found in the church pews and return it to the Minister.

^   PRAYER FOCUS: GENERAL ASSEMBLY pray for –

·        God’s blessing on the Assembly and the Holy Spirit’s guidance in all its deliberations and that the decisions reached will bring glory to God and enable our Church to be effective in its life and witness throughout Ireland and in the wider world. 

·        Wisdom and grace for the incoming Moderator, Rev Dr John Finlay, as he chairs proceedings, and for the Clerk, Rev Dr Donald Watts, as he provides guidance on procedures and the business before the house.

·        The ougoing Moderator, Rev Dr David Clarke, and his wife Hazel, as they take a well-earned rest and prepare to return in a few weeks’ time to their congregational family in Terrace Row, Coleraine.

^   ASSEMBLY WEEK – MONDAY 4TH to THURSDAY 7th JUNE 2007

     INCOMING MODERATOR:         REV DR JOHN FINALY     (Harryville, Ballymena)

     OUTGOING MODERATOR:        REV DR DAVID CLARKE  (Terrace Row, Coleraine)

·        Monday night’s Opening Service will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Ulster at 7.00pm.

·        Tuesday’s Communion Service at 12 noon in the Assembly Hall is open to all communicants.

·        The congregation is invited to a new-style Tuesday evening (7.30pm) discussion event which is designed to encourage participation.  The topic this year is “Presbyterians Talk Education” open to everyone and will help the Education Board reflect the Church’s concerns in the rapidly changing education scene.

·        Daily public worship is held on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th from 12.15pm to 1.00pm, and will be led by the Moderator.  The speakers are, respectively, Rev Brian Savage and Rev Samuel Finlay.

·        The Assembly Rally on Wednesday evening commences at 7.45pm.  The Speaker will be Dr Paul Tripp (Westminster Seminary).  You are encouraged to attend!

·        Apart from Private Business, on Thursday evening (7th), all sessions are open to the public.
