^   W E L C O M E:

A very warm welcome is extended all who have joined us for worship today.  Visitors are asked to sign the Visitor’s Book in the porch and introduce themselves to the Ministers or any of the Elders after the service.  Anyone who wishes to join the congregation is requested to fill in a yellow card which can be found in the church pews and return it to one of the Ministers.

R O S E M A R Y      C H U R C H     F U N      D A Y

Immediately after this morning's service we are going over to the church hall grounds to have a FUN DAY!!!

Bring your own picnic, soft drinks or barbeque, rug or camping seats to sit on.  There will also be barbeques provided where you can grill sausages, meat, marsh-mallows or whatever you fancy!  After the food there will be games for the children, face painting, games for adults, time to sit around and chat and enjoy a bit of company and craic.  The afternoon will finish with a time of worship at around 5.00pm (no evening service).  Afterwards the opportunity to go for a walk up the Cavehill for those who still have the energy to do so!

So - get yourself organised and come, for it is our Fun Day for you:

^   THE VACANCY:  The Convener of the Vacancy Commission and the Kirk Session will be resuming without delay the process of drawing up a ‘list’ of candidate(s) for the congregation to hear.  Should any member of the congregation wish to suggest a further possible candidate to the Kirk Session they should speak to Mr Wilbert Bennett or to the Convener.

We will remember in our prayers the leaders and girls in our Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers.

 

^   PRAYER FOCUS: GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Pray for wisdom and grace for the incoming Moderator, Rev Dr Harry Uprichard, as he chairs proceedings, and the Clerk, Rev Dr Donald Watts, as he provides guidance on procedures and the business before the house.  Also remember the outgoing Moderator, Rev Dr Ken Newell, and his wife Valerie, as they take a well-earned rest and prepare to return in a few weeks’ time to their congregational family in Fitzroy.

^   GENERAL ASSEMBLY WEEK 6 – 10TH JUNE

·        Monday night’s Opening Service will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Ulster at 7.00pm.

·        Tuesday’s Communion Service at 12 noon in the Assembly Hall is open to all communicants.

·        Daily public worship is held on Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th from 12.15pm to 1.00pm and will be led by the Moderator.  The speakers are, respectively, Rev Eddie Kirk, Rev Norman McAuley and Rev Adrian Moffett.

·        The Moderator’s Rally is on Wednesday evening commencing at 7.45pm, when the speaker will be Rev Prof Edward Donnelly, Professor of New Testament and Principal at the Reformed Theological College in Belfast. 

 

^   YOUTH FELLOWSHIP: Outing to ‘Youth Night’ in Church House on Friday 10th June.  Please meet in Coffee Bar at 6.30pm.

 

^   CRAFT AND STITCHING FAIR

Anyone interested in joining a group to visit the Craft and Stitching Fair in Dublin on Saturday 5th November please contact Margaret Sterrett (9071 6396) as soon as possible.  Unfortunately we were too late last year to buy Ulsterbus tickets – so we decided to organise ourselves early in 2005!  Tickets cost £19.50 which include entrance fee.  Bus leaves 9.00am from Europa Bus Station and back home approximately 9.00pm.  Lifts to station can be arranged.  Bring a packed lunch.
