PRAYER FOCUS: KIRK SESSION

Pray that the Elders will be strong in God’s grace as they fulfil the role God has given them and that they will be able to apply the word of God in situations in which they are to minister.

PRAYER FOCUS: KENYA

Tensions remain high and violence continues throughout parts of Kenya in the aftermath of the inauguration of Mwai Kibaki as President following the national elections held on 27th December.  In the days since the announcement, protests and violence have erupted in many places.  At least 275 people have been killed, including 30 who burned to death whilst sheltering in a church in the Rift Valley town of Eldoret, in western Kenya.  Tens of thousands of Kenyans have fled their homes due to the violence.  PCI missionary personnel in Kenya – the Cowan, Reid and Roulston families – are all safe and well.

Prayer Points:

·        For all the violence to end and for peace and calm throughout the country.

·        Pray for all those who have been affected by the violence and that the political dispute will be resolved justly and openly and for the right outcome.

·        Pray for the safety of our PCI personnel.
