>   PRAYER FOCUS: MALAWI: Margaret Young writes from Southern Malawi: “Last year’s harvest was a disaster throughout most of Malawi and, to quote a report in a recent newspaper ‘at least five million Malawians face starvation this winter’.  Many of these are infants and children, the elderly or those who are already suffering from the effects of HIV/AIDS – all unable to look after themselves.  People are desperate – there are reports of people dying after eating poisonous roots, which they thought should have been edible; and of others being mauled by crocodiles, as they gather plants on the banks of the rivers.”   Pray that food relief will soon be available and will reach those who are most in need.
