^   PRAYER FOCUS: SUDAN

The humanitarian crisis in Darfur in western Sudan continues.  Around two-thirds of the population (4 million people) remain dependent on humanitarian aid for their survival, and over one-third of the population (over 2 million people) having been forced to flee their homes, and live in makeshift camps, either within Darfur or in neighbouring Chad.

The Moderator has launched a special appeal for the crisis in Darfur.  It is intended that the amount received should be divided equally between Tearfund and Christian Aid (our aid and development partners).

     Prayer Points –

·        Pray that much needed humanitarian aid will get through in time to all those affected by the crisis in Darfur.

·        Pray for aid workers and peacekeepers seeking to carry on their work in very difficult circumstances; for their safety and the safety of those they are seeking to help.

·        Pray for a just and lasting peace for Darfur.

^   MODERATOR’S APPEAL – DARUR, SUDAN.

Members of the congregation who wish to contribute to this appeal, please use a blank envelope and mark it “Moderator’s Appeal” also clearly print name, address, freewill offering number and amount.

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Rosemary Presbyterian Church’.  Envelopes should then be placed on the offering plate.
