PRAYER FOCUS: COMMITTEE

Pray for the Committee as they continue to carry out their responsibilities in practical and financial matters in our church.  There are important decisions to be taken at committee, pray for wisdom for the members and efficiency in carrying out these tasks.

PRAYER FOCUS: KENYA

Around 600 people have been killed and some 250,000 have fled their homes due to the unrest and violence which has erupted in the aftermath of the recent presidential election in Kenya.  Our Partner Church in Kenya, the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) has sadly been affected by the crisis with many hundreds of PCEA members having had to flee their homes.  Seven PCEA church buildings have been destroyed, including in Kibera, Nairobi, where the PCEA’s Immanuel Church and its manse have been burnt to the ground.  The others would appear to be in the Eldoret area.  The Rev Samuel Muriguh (Secretary General of PCEA) is trying to distribute relief to those in need and asks that we pray - for many of their members are without food, clothes and shelter.

PCI missionary personnel in Kenya – the Cowan, Reid and Roulston families – continue to be safe and well.  Derek and Linda Roulston’s two girls, Laura-Jayne (aged 16) and Amy (aged 14) who have been visiting their mum, dad and brother Joshua over the Christmas holidays were due to fly back to school in Dublin on Friday last.  Pray for these families.
