>   PRAYER FOCUS: NEPAL

Following the breakdown of the Maoists’ four-month ceasefire, 38 people were reported killed when a bus was blown up by a landmine in the southern Chitwan district last week.  This explosion is the most deadly attack on civilians since the start of the Maoist insurgency.  The bus, packed with villagers and with more riding on the roof, was completely destroyed.  The Maoists later apologised, saying the intended target of the attack had been the Nepali army.  Continue to pray for peace in Nepal, for good and accountable government, and safety for all.  Pray too for all in UMN as they seek to carry on their work in a highly volatile situation – Judith Ellis (Principal) and Jenny Fell (Teacher) in Kathmandu International Study Centre.
