> PRAYER FOCUS: EMERGENCIES IN ASIA &
AFRICA
In the aftermath
of the recent Asian earthquake and with severe (and growing) food shortages in
a number of countries in Africa, the Board of Mission Overseas has endorsed the
launching of a special church-wide appeal to fund emergency relief,
rehabilitation and longer-term development in crisis-hit countries in both
continents. This special appeal will be
officially launched by the Moderator and details will be available soon as to
how individuals and churches can contribute to the appeal. Monies contributed to this fund will be
channelled through our aid and development partners, Christian Aid and Tearfund, and partner churches in countries affected. Pray for all those directly affected by these
emergencies.
