PRAYER FOCUS: KENYA

In Tuum, a team from Epworth Methodist Church, Portadown has been assisting leading the youth camps.  The junior camp took place last week, ending on Easter Saturday morning; the senior camp beginning later that day.  The youth camp went well but one of the vehicles taking some of the young people home after the junior camp suffered a steering system failure which caused it to roll over.  Sadly, two children died in this accident and        three others required hospital treatment.  It has been a difficult few days while police have investigated the accident and post mortems are carried out.  It was hoped that the funerals would take place on the 18th, but these have been delayed until later in the week.  Despite this horrific accident, the senior youth camp has continued at the request of the children, though without some children from Lesirikan who could not be transported to Tuum.  In addition to the trauma of the vehicle accident, there have been some shootings in the area between the Samburu and Pokot groups, causing people to flee in areas around Maralal, the district headquarters.  Remember the grieving families of the two children who died; and pray that the injured children will recover quickly.  Remember the team from Portadown; and pray for a safe journey home.
