^   PRAYER FOCUS

We will remember in our prayers the McCrea family especially Philip as he prepares for his Installation Service on Wednesday evening.

^   PRAYER FOCUS: SUDAN

Within the last week, the Sudanese government has agreed unconditionally to the deployment of a joint United Nations (UN) and African Union (AU) peacekeeping force in the troubled Darfur area of Western Sudan.  African Union peacekeepers have been struggling to control the situation in Darfur and until now, the Sudanese government has refused to allow UN peacekeepers to enter the area.  The UN will be able to provide more and better-resourced troops which it is hoped will bring more stability to the region and also finally bring an end to the violence which has taken the lives of over 200,000 people and made around 2.5 million people refugees since the conflict began in 2003.  Over the past year the insurgency has grown more fragmented and dispersed, and violence continues in many areas affecting the work of aid workers trying to help around two-thirds of the population (4 million people) who remain dependent on humanitarian aid for their survival.

·        Pray that much needed humanitarian  aid will get through in time to all those affected by the crisis in Darfur.

·        Pray for aid workers and peacekeepers seeking to carry on their work in very difficult circumstances; for their safety and the safety of those they are seeking to help.

·        Pray for a just and lasting peace in Darfur.

·        Pray that the Moderator’s appeal will be generously supported throughout PCI.

^   MODERATOR’S APPEAL – DARUR, SUDAN.

Members of the congregation who wish to contribute to this appeal, please use a blank envelope and mark it “Moderator’s Appeal” also clearly print name, address, freewill offering number and amount.

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Rosemary Presbyterian Church’.  Envelopes should then be placed on the offering plate.

^   THANK YOU to those who supported the recent Christian Aid / Habitat for Humanity breakfast and Christian Aid appeal.  A total of £1044.34 for Christian Aid and £218.34 for Habitat for Humanity was received and has been paid over to the charities.

^   ADVANCE NOTICE – PARKING RESTRICTIONS

The PSNI have informed us that work is to be carried out on the North Circular Road during the next six weeks.  This involves re-alignment and addition of road signs and two new control islands above the top gate of Rosemary Church.  There must be NO parking within 15 metres of these islands at any time.  This will result in less parking space near the Church.  We are also reminded to keep residents’ driveways, road junctions and the bus stops on the North Circular Road clear.  Parking Tickets will be issued for any offences.

^   FIRESIDE QUIZ

Today is the last opportunity to get a copy of the quiz sheet in aid of the UFM Summer Mission Trip to Brazil.  Please see Becky Long after the end of the service.
