A very warm welcome is extended to all who have joined us today.  Visitors are asked to sign the Visitor’s Book in the porch and introduce themselves to the Ministers or any of the Elders after the service.  Anyone who wishes to join the congregation is requested to fill in a yellow card which can be found in the church pews and return it to one of the Ministers.

^  PRAYER FOCUS: MALAWI

Maureen Stevenson is due to return home this summer from her work as Medical Officer-in-Charge at the David Gordon Memorial Hospital, (DGMH), where she and the other members of staff have a very heavy work load.  Pray for Maureen as she prepares to leave DGMH and says farewell to colleagues and friends, also for a good period of rest and refreshment on her return to Ireland.

^  CRECHE

Please note the following new arrangements for Creche:

During July and August the crèche will be held in the choir room with the Children’s Church.  Parents should bring young children to church for the first part of the service, going out to the choir room at approximately 11.20am.  These changes have been made necessary due to the work on the halls heating system which is being untaken during July and August.

CHURCH HALLS HEATING APPEAL

The Ekenhead Memorial Halls built in the 1930’s, apart from replacing the boilers and burners in 2001 the pipe-work relating to the heating system goes back to when the halls were built.  At the beginning of this year a significant water leak from the heating system was detected and this resulted in half of the system having to be isolated and leaving most of the rooms with greatly reduced or no heat at all.  The MOP Committee has taken the decision to carry out a total replacement of the existing pipe-work.

Many of us have inherited this building from previous generations and from older members of the congregation who paid for its erection.  It’s now our turn to carry the burden.  This is a challenge which is not beyond our capabilities.  Together we can do it, so let us accomplish it with thankfulness and joy. Leaflets and envelopes have been delivered to each family in the congregation, please give generously. Envelopes should be placed on the offering plate.
