PRAYER FOCUS: MALAWI – STEPHEN & RUTH McCRACKEN

The McCracken family have adopted two Malawian orphans. Keziah (a girl, 19 months) and Timothy (15 months).    Keziah was welcomed into their family in August and Timothy came two weeks ago.  Pray that as a family, Keziah and Timothy, will feel love and accept Stephen and Ruth as their new parents, and Joshua, Emily, Naomi and Gregory as their new brothers and sisters.  (Take a copy of the latest prayer letter; it includes a photograph of the new extended family!).

NORTH BELFAST INTER CHURCH COMMITTEE “FIVE CHURCHES CAROL WALK”

Sunday 3rd December.  Starts at St Peter’s Antrim Road at 2.30pm walking to Rosemary Presbyterian Church, Church of the Resurrection Cavehill Road, Cavehill Methodist and finishing at Fortwilliam Park/McCrory with a cup of tea at approximately 4.30pm.  At each Church we say a prayer and sing a carol.  Walk with us or join us in one of the churches – bring a friend!

 

PCI OVERSEAS TEAMS 2007 : UKRAINE

The Board of Mission Overseas plans to send an adult team of members to Ukraine; 13 – 25 July 2007.  Applicants must be 18 or over by 1st July, physically fit and able to take part in a busy schedule of activities.  (Applicants are NOT expected to be trained teachers or have English Teaching qualifications!)  Cost £550; closing date for applications 13 December.  Leaflets available in the church porch.

 

Notice of Congregational Meeting

Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the Congregation of Rosemary will be held at 8.00pm on Thursday 30th November 2006 in the Church. The purpose of the meeting is to receive a recommendation from the Kirk Session regarding the appointment of a representative Hearing Committee to hear future candidates for the vacancy and, if the recommendation is approved, to elect members of the Congregation to serve on that Hearing Committee.

Explanatory notes :

(a)      At the Congregational Meeting the Kirk Session will present the following three resolutions :

(i)     That the Congregation of Rosemary agrees to hear future candidates for the vacancy by Hearing Committee.

 

(ii)    That the Hearing Committee be directed to recommend a sole nominee to be heard directly by the Congregation.

 

(iii)      That the Hearing Committee comprise of :

§        6 representatives of the Kirk Session, nominated by the Kirk Session;

§        4 representatives of the Congregational Committee excluding members of Kirk Session, nominated by the Congregational Committee;

§        4 representatives of the Congregation, excluding members of Kirk Session and Committee, directly elected by the Congregation.

(b)     If these resolutions are passed, then the Kirk Session and Congregational Committee nominations will be presented to the meeting. Nominations for the 4 representatives of the Congregation will be called for - each name will have to be proposed and seconded and the person concerned will have to assent, either in person or by affirmation of the people nominating the individual.

 

(c)     If more than 4 nominations are received there will be a secret ballot to elect the 4 representatives of the Congregation.  (Please note that an individual must be a voting member of the Congregation to be nominated, to nominate or to vote at the meeting.)
