>   PRAYER FOCUS: MALAWI

In Ekwendeni from 30th May to 8th June, over 100 students at Ekwendeni College of Commerce will be doing end of semester and end of course exams in secretarial and accounting subjects.  Funding continues to be a problem at Ekwendeni School of Nursing (ENS), where Shirley Stronge is currently Acting Principal.  Government funding is still awaited for the 53 new students who started in April.  Though the funds were promised this week, they still have not been received by ENS.  Shirley says, “If funding does not come by 30th the students are going to have to be sent home, which is not good for them or for us.”  Ekwendeni Girls’ Brigade has begun again after the recent holidays and the situation is more settled in the Girl’s Secondary School.  Pray for the students as they prepare to sit these exams and that the Government will release the necessary funds as soon as possible.

>   UNITED APPEAL “GETTING THINGS DONE TOGETHER”

The Presbyterian Church is committed to a £10m mission programme for 2006.  That’s how seriously its members want to follow Christ’s command to tell the whole world about God’s love.  The programme is the continuing work of the mission agencies of our Church, providing effective outreach that requires the resources of the whole Church and at the same time supporting congregations in their work and witness at local level.

We encourage everyone to give generously.

Envelopes should be placed on the offering plate

(please remember to quote FWO number!)

>   QUIZ NIGHT  SATURDAY 3RD JUNE

Monday 19th to Friday 23rd June

>   Have you any memoirs of ‘yesteryear’ or the ‘good old days’ that you would like to share with the congregation – or interesting stories from the not so distant past?  If so, the editor would like to publish them in the church magazine.  Should there be sufficient interest we would also like to put them together in booklet form for posterity, along with some stories that have already appeared in Insight.  If you wish your name to be remembered down through the years this is your chance.  Interested?  Contact Noel McGuiggan 028 9085 3965.
