> PRAYER FOCUS FOR THE WEEK
We will remember
in our prayers the members of our Ladies Bowling Club and the Rosemary Drama
Group.
> PRAYER FOCUS: PAKISTANI/INDIAN
Heavy snow and rain are causing misery for the survivors of last
autumn’s earthquake who do not yet have adequate shelter. Night-time temperatures can plunge well below
freezing and many of the tents that have been distributed are not strong enough
to withstand the harsh Himalayan winter.
Villages are being cut off as the bad weather stops relief flights from
taking off and triggers landslides. Tearfund’s relief team has finished distributing tool kits
and materials for shelters. Many
families received these kits just in time to protect themselves from the bad
weather. Now the team are distributing
water purification tablets and building temporary toilets and water
systems. Future projects will focus on
education. Please pray for all those
struggling to stay warm and dry; pray against respiratory infections such as
pneumonia which are on the increase.
> LATIN LINK APPEAL (ROSEMARY GIBSON)
We will be taking this appeal during the month of January.
Envelopes can be
obtained from either the pews or the church porch, also copies of the latest
“Prayer Letter” available.
